Marymount Manhattan College '25
"Where Would We Be Without Them?" is a fusion of theater in the style of Pina Bausch and the Fosse movement language with hints of contemporary and social dance that explores the profound impact of ancestry on identity and community. This 5 minute piece is curated around the central question: where would we be without the people who came before us? Through a collaborative process, the performers will honor their ancestors - both blood-related and through lineage of dance - by creating detail oriented movement phrases and text that reflect their personal experiences with, memories of, and quirks of their ancestors.
